Emeka and I have been together for 7 years and over the course of that time we have become best friends, have traveled the world together, lived together, been through different jobs and school, big celebrations and tough times - we've experienced it all. Our wedding will bring together the people that have been on this journey with us and will witness our union in the sacrament of marriage. We want our wedding to be a celebration uniting our families.
As many of you know, my family is very large and Emeka's family is coming from all corners of the world. We've made friends from all over the place and they will be sharing in our special day. One of the most special guests to both of us is our priest, Leo. Leo is a very dear family friend who has baptized me, wed my parents, brothers, aunts and uncles.
Our wedding will be elegant, modern traditional and chic. The hotel itself is elegant and minimalist... clean straight lines, tea lights and dark wood. The church is stunning - lots of white marble, high ceilings and stainless glass windows.
We can't wait to see you there! Thanks for sharing in this special moment with us.
The Ceremony will take place from 3-4PM.
The Church is located on 36th Street. The best approach to the Church is from 35th Street turn onto O Street and take a left on 36th Street. The Church is on the left.
There is a two-hour break between the Ceremony and the Cocktail Reception. Feel free to head back to the hotel or spend time in Georgetown.
Cocktail Reception at 6PM followed by the Dinner Reception at 7PM.
After the rehearsal we will head back to the Park Hyatt for drinks at the Blue Duck Tavern. All are welcome to join and say hello!
We will be having breakfast at the Blue Duck Tavern, feel free to stop by to say bye and/or grab a bite to eat!
Emily and I met on Craigslist, found an apartment together and both landed our first jobs out of college all in three days. She calls it "divine intervention." Emily quickly became a sister to me and baby sis to Emeka. Nicknamed Kittens for obvious reasons. Ems is a true "Minnesnowtan," don't cha know?
My incredible sister-in-law, super mom to Ella and Charlotte. Lauren was the first person in the family that I gushed over Emeka about in 2010. She's the only person that I am happy to share my name with... soon it's all yours, sis!
Emeka's doppelganger and my soon-to-be future sister-in-law, she's affectionately known as the Swiss Miss by the Osakwe family. Both the youngest of three, Anie and I have perfected our love for the finer things in life.
Always down for anything, Shauna is my go to girl down to party or simply chat by the pool. An undefeated corn hole champion and partner, big oyster challenge buddy, wine drinking companion, and amazing sister-in-law. Oh and Emeka's rap pal.
My best friend since I was 2 and adventure seeker, often resulting in us getting in trouble as young kids. From sand paint in Colin's bed to free $500+ dinners in Philly, you are my forever sister (oh and not to mention Emeka's other wife... 2 for 2!).
My soon-to-be future sister-in-law with an infectious laugh. While it took a long time for Adanma and I to meet in person (almost three years), I quickly got to know her over email. She makes the best pen pal and is one of the sweetest girls I know.
My adorable niece Ella the Explorer, my little Ella Bella and my beautiful Goddaughter. This little sweet pea has Emeka wrapped around her finger and she's smitten about her Uncle Em. He's Ella's sleep whisperer and she's my playtime "ba-bules" buddy.
Little Miss Charlotte is our newest addition to the family - beating Emeka by two months! She's Ella's little "baby" and can sleep through all the toys Uncle Chris bought Ella (D&L are going to get you back for that Christopher). Charlotte has the most wonderful baby smell, deep blue gazing eyes and she's the best cuddle bug.
Ran into him during a chance encounter at a cocktail party at the World Bank. Grateful that our paths crossed. Always looking out. My consligiere, sartorial consultant, fellow underwear salesman... oh and best Man.
Future brother in law. Current big brother. My dad met him and tried to recruit him to join the diplomatic corps. Donny is most likely to become President one day and I'll be part of the cabinet.
Dmitri Malcolm has the dubious honor (curse?) of being the person that was stuck with me for 4 years right after leaving my parent's house. #goblue #umich #wolverines
Future brother-in-law. Current brother. It all started when I picked him up in a Mustang with racing stripes. Unstoppable at cornhole together until we come up against the Golden State Warriors of Cornhole - my fiancee/his sister, his wife/my rap pal
My brother during the come-up. Met him the same place I met my future wife! He also has such perfect hair that the NYTimes ran an article on it.
My diplomatic representative from Geneva. Partners in crime since forever. One of my oldest friends. Lauren has dubbed him the Godfather (of Geneva)
